Use case · Graphic design and branding

Get approval on a direction before handing over sources.

Branding and graphic design develop through versions. The client should be able to review a direction and request relevant revisions, while final files, sources and exports form a clear handoff rather than confusing folders.

Dealokr supports the deal and its history. Payments and file permissions remain with the relevant providers.

The framework

A creative workflow supports review quality as well as file handoff.

The client does not need every file to decide whether the work meets the brief. They need a sufficient preview, a clear decision and a revision route.

  1. 01

    Brief

Name the result, formats, references, constraints and excluded work.

  2. 02

    Concept

Identify the presented direction, its intention and the decisions the client needs to make.

  3. 03

    Revision

Collect version-specific feedback and check it against the chosen direction.

  4. 04

    Approval

Record the accepted version before finalising variants or production files.

  5. 05

    Package

List exports, sources, licences or guides available at handoff.

In practice

Make the next action clear.

Each step should show who decides, what needs checking and what follows. That makes the workflow useful day to day.

01

Distinguish creative direction from the final package.

A brand route, concept or mockup needs a suitable review format. The client can assess message, visual language, composition or usage without necessarily receiving source files, high-resolution exports or production libraries.

Write the distinction from the start: what is shown for review, what is delivered at the end and what depends on approval or a release step. This reassures the client and avoids accidental handoff.

02

Make revisions a response to the brief.

A useful revision explains the adjustment needed to reach the agreed result: hierarchy, readability, tone, alignment with a reference or a constraint. When the client wants a new direction, audience or deliverable set, name that change before producing it.

The aim is to keep collaboration clear. Give each good idea its proper place: an included revision, a decision or a new phase.

03

Prepare an explicit handoff.

The final handoff may include exports, source files, styles, logo, brand guide, Figma links, licences or documentation. List them by type, specify formats and confirm permissions in external tools. Shared links remain subject to the hosting provider’s settings.

Dealokr can retain the approved version and handoff event so the client can follow the project history later.

Operational checklist

The creative approval checklist.

Use it before sending a concept, review version or final package.

01

Before review

  • The concept connects to the brief and important criteria.
  • The client can identify the version.
  • Sources and final exports are separated when needed.

02

During feedback

  • Requests identify a specific version or item.
  • Each request relates to the agreed result or is identified as a new direction.
  • The next version or decision is explicit.

03

At handoff

  • The approved version is recorded.
  • Formats, sources and included items are listed.
  • External links and permissions have been checked.

Useful wording

Simple language for the moments that matter.

Adapt the bracketed details to your situation. These examples clarify the project; they are not legal clauses.

When sending a concept

Give the decision framework.

“This concept answers the brief on [points]. Please approve the direction or specify the adjustments needed to reach this result by [date].”

The client knows what they can evaluate.

When a new direction appears

Make the scope change visible.

“This proposal opens a different direction from the current concept. I can include it as a new phase to keep the first direction’s approval and deliverables clear.”

You protect work quality and the schedule.

At handoff

List the delivered assets.

“The approved direction is [name]. The final package contains [exports, sources, guide, links] as specified in the deal.”

A named handoff is easier for the client team to use.

A system, rather than an abstract promise

A deal becomes reliable when everyone sees their next action.

The value comes from connecting scope, payment, review, approval and handoff. Keep your commercial documents, obligations and external permissions current separately.

Common questions

Useful answers before starting the project.

Can a direction be approved before producing variants?

Yes. This often avoids producing numerous formats before the brand or creative direction has been decided.

Are source files always included?

No. Their inclusion depends on the deal. List them explicitly alongside other handoff items.

Does Dealokr control Figma or Drive access?

No. The external tool controls permissions. Dealokr helps organise and retain the deal history around those links.

A protected next deal

Keep payment and final handoff in the same deal.

Create a clear project for you and your client, with a protected payment flow through the configured provider, protected delivery and visible approval.
