Stripe Connect for freelancers

Understand what Stripe Connect does in a freelance deal.

Stripe processes payments. Dealokr connects payment status to terms, delivery, client approval and the project record.

In practice

Connect the steps instead of reconstructing the story later.

Understand Stripe Connect’s role in a freelance deal: payment flow, confirmed status, approval, release, fees and boundaries.

Stripe processes payment; Dealokr supports the deal workflow.

With Stripe Connect, the client pays through Stripe. Dealokr receives useful statuses through server functions and webhooks, then connects them to the deal, protected delivery and client approval. Dealokr does not present itself as a bank, payment institution or regulated escrow service.

The status must come from the provider.

A payment is not confirmed merely because a user clicks a button. The status must come from Stripe or a controlled server action. This separation reduces errors and makes the record easier to understand.

Approval and release remain separate steps.

The client can approve a delivery without moving money themselves. Release then depends on the deal rules, the absence of an active dispute and the availability of the relevant Stripe Connect account.

Without / With Dealokr

The same project, with a clearer history.

Isolated payment

The payment exists in Stripe, but the contract, delivery and approval remain scattered.

Dealokr protection

Stripe status is attached to the deal, protected delivery, approval and project record.

Does Dealokr hold Stripe funds?

No. Stripe processes payment and money movement under its own rules. Dealokr supports the deal workflow and keeps useful records.

Is Stripe Connect regulated escrow?

Dealokr does not present Stripe Connect as a regulated escrow service. Public wording remains payment processed by Stripe Connect and status confirmed by the provider.
