Your profession, a clear project workflowDealokr for freelancers

Dealokr for freelancers: a clear project from agreement to handoff.

When a client commissions work, turn the brief into an arrangement they can understand. In Dealokr, you connect the agreement, initial payment, review versions and handoff while keeping the practical details of your profession.

Prepare my project workflow

A brief can feel clear to you while the client expects something different. The gap often appears when it is time to begin, collect feedback or hand over the deliverables. A well-prepared project helps both parties understand the expected result and the next decision.

Dealokr gives the project a framework: agreement for signature, initial payment, preview, feedback and hosted final-file handoff. To explore the full journey, see how Dealokr works.

The workflow remains consistent, while the content changes with your profession. A strategic recommendation, sales page, visual identity and website need different kinds of review. Prepare a framework suited to what you produce and what your client will need to decide.

Four reference points for your next project.
  • A recognisable result and deliverables, with the input you need from the client.
  • A signed agreement and 100% upfront payment for the fixed-price workflow.
  • A review version, criteria and a person responsible for confirming the decision.
  • A prepared handoff: formats, any agreed source files, documentation and permissions.
01 · Give the brief a clear shape

Turn the conversation into specific deliverables.

Start by describing the work so your client can recognise what they will receive. A profession or general intention is not always enough. In Dealokr, prepare the agreement with the result, deliverables, boundaries and necessary input: you create a shared reference before setting aside production time, with a clearer understanding of the work you are about to undertake.

Start with a result you can present

For consulting, identify the question to address and what will support a decision: a summary, recommendations, priorities or a roadmap. For writing, specify the material, audience, tone and expected variants. For a technical project, describe the pages, flows or configurations the client will be able to examine.

Make dependencies visible

List the information, content, access and approvals you need from the client. If a workshop or interview forms part of your service, explain its role and what it will produce. Dealokr supports the project framework; you provide the expertise with appropriate tools and methods.

You can leave room to explore while identifying exclusions and decisions that allow the next stage to begin. A new channel, another brand direction or an additional integration can then be discussed clearly before entering production.

02 · Establish a starting point

Have the agreement signed, then fund the fixed-price work.

A clear project start connects the accepted scope, payment and the work about to begin. In Dealokr’s fixed-price workflow, you prepare the agreement and have it signed before the client pays 100% of the project upfront. You can then produce from confirmed funding, with the deliverables and review conditions already defined and understood within the project.

Explain what the client is funding

Before sending the link, check the scope, total price, schedule and deliverables. The client should understand what they are buying, what they need to supply and how they will examine the result. Present upfront payment as a planned project step, with a clear next action.

The client uses the project portal to read the framework and follow the relevant steps. Payment is processed through Stripe Connect and collected in the platform’s Stripe balance before transfer to the freelancer’s connected account. That initial funding remains separate from transfer and bank arrival.

Separate production stages from client charges

You can divide a project into intermediate results: a chosen direction, testable version or batch ready for review. With a fixed price funded upfront, these stages do not mean charging the client again at every review. Any milestone transfer requests follow the project conditions.

If you work on a daily rate, define that pricing model and the relevant work periods at the start as well. It is a different workflow from the fixed-price example here. What matters is that you and your client know which work is covered and which payment stage you are following.

03 · Show what needs a decision

Prepare a preview suited to the work.

A useful review gives your client clear enough material to decide and a question to answer. Choose the version and format for the work: a recommendation needs a different review from an animation or website. In Dealokr, the preview and response request remain connected to the project, with the context needed to prepare the next step together.

Choose material that genuinely helps the client respond

In consulting, present the options and recommendation while identifying the priority or direction to choose. For writing, provide a structure or named version and explain whether the review concerns substance, tone or final adjustments. For branding, show the creative direction in use and request a decision before expanding into numerous variants.

In motion design, a review video can support comments on timing, copy or a sequence without being confused with the final master. For development or no-code work, identify the environment, flows to test and acceptance criteria. A demo or staging site remains review material whose access is managed in the relevant tool.

Name the decision and version

Explain what the client needs to confirm, who consolidates feedback and the agreed response date. A version labelled v02 followed by a precise request is easier to retrieve than a link called “latest file”. The client can then approve or request a revision on identifiable material.

A preview supports examination of the result and can be copied or captured. Prepare it for a useful decision, keeping it distinct from hosted final files to be handed over. Create each support in your production or testing tool, then share a recognisable version with instructions the client can follow.

04 · Move the decision forward

Connect feedback to the version and scope.

Feedback becomes easier to handle when it identifies a version, location and expected result. In Dealokr, conversations, revision requests and available history help you find that context. You can prepare the next version and distinguish a correction, an agreed adjustment or a new requirement, without having to start the whole project discussion again with each message from your client.

Consolidate comments before producing more work

If several people are involved, agree who gathers comments and confirms the decision. A manager may request direct language while another person prefers an institutional tone; the product does not resolve that preference. Ask the decision-maker before preparing a version that attempts to satisfy incompatible requests.

Make feedback easy to locate: a passage of text, tested screen, board element, animation sequence or time reference. Summarise what you will change and what still needs clarification. The conversation becomes a concrete work point, with a next version to examine.

Give a change of request its own place

A correction against the agreed scope and a new direction are different situations. Check the agreement and included revisions, then explain what the request changes. A new page, another audience or an additional set of formats may require a price and schedule proposal to confirm before production.

In marketing, distinguish the service goal from market results too. You can define the audit, assets, campaign plan or reporting expected; a change in performance does not, by itself, describe a revision to the agreed work. Return to the deliverables and assumptions to decide the next action with your client.

05 · Prepare the final package

Hand over the agreed files and access.

Prepare the end of the project with an inventory: version, formats, any agreed source files, documentation and access. After review, the freelancer requests the transfer under project conditions; confirmation enables access to hosted final files in Dealokr. You can connect handoff to an understandable stage, with a ready package the client can identify and retrieve for the next step.

Adapt the package to what was purchased

A consultant may deliver the summary, recommendations and agreed priorities. A copywriter supplies the final document and included variants. For design, specify exports, variants and any editable files; third-party resources, fonts and licences need checking against what can actually be handed over.

For animation, list the masters, ratios, formats and project-file elements included in the engagement. A final video and the working project are different deliverables. For web or no-code work, identify the sources, documentation, accounts and deployment responsibilities that were agreed.

Check permissions in the right place

Dealokr organises access to hosted files through its workflow. A Figma or Drive link, code repository, CMS or advertising platform retains its own permissions. Check account ownership, invitations and the client’s ability to continue the work in each relevant service. Use a suitable channel for sensitive access details.

Preview approval does not automatically execute the transfer. The freelancer requests it under the conditions, then awaits confirmation; bank arrival is separate. Accompany handoff with a useful recap for the client and retain your references and backups for your own needs.

06 · Return with the project context

Keep the thread and prepare the next action.

A well-followed project lets you return to the scope, latest version and point awaiting a response. Dealokr history brings recorded events together with their available context. You can resume the conversation with your client from shared reference points, whether you are preparing another review, a handoff or a continuation of the work that you have already discussed together.

Prepare an update that leads to a decision

Return to the useful information: what was presented, the response received, the ready version and the action needed. A client returning after an absence should not have to rebuild the entire conversation to understand the next step. A short recap can help them respond on the right material.

For marketing work, retain the assumptions, data and choices that explain what was delivered. The client can continue the analysis with that context, without treating a visibility or conversion goal as a result guaranteed by Dealokr. Specialist tools and service delivery remain part of your own activity.

Choose a framework suited to how you work

Starting from work found elsewhere, Dealokr connects your framework, initial payment, feedback and handoff in an understandable workflow. You can concentrate on production while keeping decisions and next steps easy for your client to find.

Keep invoicing appropriate to your activity, the documents needed for follow-up and your own backups. Operational history provides useful context when you return to a project. For the next engagement, begin with a clear result, then prepare review and handoff with the client before production starts.

Your profession determines what you produce, what the client needs to examine and what you hand over at the end. Dealokr connects those moments to the signed scope and initial fixed-price payment. Prepare recognisable deliverables, specific feedback and a final package your client can use to continue the work.
